Real-time traffic updates for drivers in Jaipur

Drivers in the Pink City will get real-time updates about the traffic situation and arrangements of the traffic police by SMS on their mobile phones.
Jaipur Traffic Police is introducing an SMS service from tomorrow to provide updates on traffic so that drivers can avoid traffic snarls, wherever it is, and take alternative routes to reach their destinations.
"The service user will be provided real time updates through SMSes about traffic congestion, diversion and other traffic-related information so that they can take alternative routes accordingly to avoid unnessesary problem," DCP Traffic Lata Manoj Kumar said.
She said a mobile phone user is required to forward a message "RJ TPSUB" to 51969 to subscribe the service.

"Traffic congestion is increasing and becoming a problem in the city and the IT is now a good tool to help us", Kumar said.
Kumar added the service will be upgraded with additional features in coming days.
