Record steel loading in Tatanagar area of SE railway

Tatanagar had recorded highest Steel loading of 4.56 lakh tonne in March 2009 but the record was broken in July 2012 when total steel loading touched the 4.72 lakh tonne in July last, said Akhilesh Pandey, Area Manager of Tatanagar.

Pandey said the July record too survived only for a month as 4.79 lakh tonne steel loading was done in August.

In march 2009, he said, total 43 steel Rake (goods train) was booked while it was 179 and 184 in July and August 2012 respectively.

This has improved revenue generation of Tatanagar area by 30 per cent compared to March 2009.
