Residents block national highway over "delay" in LPG supplies

The residents of Hansi town, about 27 km from here, today blocked the traffic on Hisar-Delhi National Highway for about half an hour to protest against alleged undue delay in the supply of LPG cylinders to them by a distributor.
The consumers raised slogans against the LPG distributor when they were told to wait more before the supply could be delivered to them.
The LPG consumers reached the national highway and blocked the traffic to draw the attention of the administration towards their plight, police said.
SHO Prahalad Singh reached the spot with heavy police force and persuaded the agitators to end the blockade as it was causing inconvenience to thousands of travellers on both sides of the national highway.

After getting assurance from the authorities, the angry consumers relented and ended the blockade but threatened to intensify stir if the distributor did not resume normal supplies of the LPG soon.
Notably, due to the severe cold wave conditions persisting in the region, the demand of LPG has suddenly gone up.
