Illuminate darkness in lives of poor with lamps of hope: Guv

Exhorting all sections of society to kindle lamps of hope to illuminate the darkness in the lives of poor, downtrodden and the underprivileged, outgoing Uttarakhand Governor today greeted the residents of the hill-state on the New Year.
In his message on the occasion, issued by the Uttrakhand Raj Bhawan here on its eve, Qureshi said, "My best wishes to the residents of 'Devbhumi-Veerbhumi' Uttarakhand for the New Year 2015".
He said that he prays to the Almighty that the residents of this beautiful state be saved from any kind of calamity and their lives be filled with love, prosperity and peace.
"On the occasion of the new year, I exhort all intellectual, prosperous and large-hearted sections of society to kindle lamps of hope to illuminate the darkness in the lives of poor, downtrodden and underprivileged," Qureshi said.
Yesterday, Qureshi had been transferred and appointed as Governor of Mizoram for the remainder of his term till May 2017, and Meghalaya Governor K K Paul is to take his place.
