During a meeting with Civil Aviation Minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju Pusapati yesterday, Acharya discussed with him air connectivity problems being faced by people of Nagaland ever since the Air India reduced its operation between Kolkata and Dimapur from seven days to five days a week.
The Governor asked the Minister to restore the daily service of Air India between Kolkata and Dimapur immediately, an official release said.
The Governor also requested Pusapati to provide air connectivity between Imphal and Kohima to help tourists witness the festival at Kohima which is held immediately after the 'Sanghai Festival' in Manipur.
The Governor also met Union Road and Surface Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari and discussed with him Centre's plans for development of the northeastern region, particularly, Nagaland.
