Revenue inspector held for taking Rs 2000 bribe

A revenue official was arrested in Srikakulam district today for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 2000 in return of official favour, according to ACB.
Jagan Mohana Rao, posted as Revenue Inspector in Mandal Tehsildar Office in Vajrapu Kotturu Mandal, had allegedly sought Rs 5000 for expediting procurement of a birth registration certificate of son of the complainant, the agency said in a release.
However the 'deal' was finalised at Rs 2000, the ACB said.
Meanwhile, the complainant approached the agency, following which a trap was laid here in which Rao was caught.
He will be produced before the special court for ACB offences at Visakhapatnam tomorrow.
