Right to Service ordinance comes into effect in Maharashtra
Press Trust of India Mumbai An ordinance on the Right to Services, enabling citizens legal recourse to hold an officer accountable and to ensure time-bound delivery of services, has come into effect in Maharashtra, a senior official said here today.
"Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao signed the ordinance yesterday," the official told PTI, adding, the ordinance makes compliance by civic officials mandatory and includes punitive action.
