In a complaint filed by SP MLA Ghulam Mohammed's son Shariq, he alleged that the accused tried to kill Fatima by poisoning her on Friday in Ghaziabad.
Fatima, the MLA's daughter, was married to RLD state secretary Kunwar Ayyub Ali's son Kunwar Azhar Ayyub Ali on November 24 last year, Delhi Gate inspector Deepak Tyagi said.
Citing the complaint, he said that the accused mentally, and physically harassed Fatima, an engineer, as their dowry demand of Rs 5 crore and an expensive car was unmet following which they poisoned her, Tyagi said.
Fatima's mother-in-law Shahin, sister-in-law Ayasha, and another person Masroor Ahmad have also been named in the complaint, Tyagi said.
Cases under sections 307, 323, 328, 506 and 498-A of the IPC have been lodged against the accused and the police are investigating the matter, Tyagi said, adding, a team has also been sent to Ghaziabad for probe.
