The incident took place around 9.30 AM at the bank located in the busy area of Choppadandi, around 20 kms from here.
"The four accused entered the SBI branch at Choppadandi mandal headquarters as soon as the bank opened. The four offenders threatened the bank staff with guns and locked them inside a room and then looted Rs 40 lakh," Karimnagar Superintendent of Police V Shiva Kumar said.
"We are going through the CCTV footage captured on the cameras installed inside the bank as part of the investigation," he said.
