"We have seized contraband gold of Rs 61.35 lakh in two separate incidents at KIAL," Customs Additional Commissioner D Anil said in a release here.
In the first seizure yesterday, a packet containing three pieces of cut gold bars weighing 1.5 kgs in total, valued at Rs 40 lakh, was seized by customs officials from a flight which had arrived from Dubai.
The contraband gold was concealed inside the pipe-like structure below a seat, he added.
Today, officials recovered 800 grams of gold valued at Rs 21.35 lakh abandoned by a passenger in a toilet at the arrival hall of the airport, he said.
