Deshmukh, who was serving as Kshetra Sanghchalak for Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Karnataka, had been suffering from prostate cancer for the last two years and breathed his last yesterday, an RSS release said here today.
The funeral took place at Saidabad here today, it said.
Prior to the funeral, a condolence meeting was held at his residence in the city, which was attended by Union Minister Nirmala Sitaraman, BJP General Secretary Muralidhar Rao and other BJP and RSS leaders, the release added.
