A group of activists on Monday alleged that rules were flouted to grant an extension to retired chairman of the Staff Selection Commission to cover up the recruitment scam and protect those involved in corruption.
"The cabinet committee on appointments led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi regularised the illegal extension of Ashim Khurana by amending rules retrospectively even after concerned officers in UPSC and Law Ministry expressed written objection terming it unconstitutional," activist Yogendar Yadav told reporters.
The group "Youth Halla Bol", of which Yadav is a part, demanded that Khurana must be removed from the post of SSC Chairman and CBI investigation in the recruitment scam be expedited.
