The rupee depreciated 10 paise to 67.49 against the US dollar at the forex market today due to increased demand for the American currency from importers amid foreign fund outflows.
Weakness of the US dollar against major world currencies, however, capped the rupee's losses, dealers said.
Yesterday, the rupee had recovered 6 paise to end at 67.39 against the American currency on fresh selling of dollars by banks and exporters on the back of good foreign capital inflows.
Meanwhile, the benchmark BSE Sensex fell 109.54 points, or 0.40 per cent, to 27,091.95 in early volatile trade today.
