Securities Appellate Tribunal (SAT) will hold on September 13 the final hearing on realty major DLF's plea against the Rs 86 crore penalty imposed on it by capital market regulator Sebi.
In February last year, Sebi had slapped fines totalling Rs 86 crore on DLF, its top executives, their family members and various other related entities for alleged fraudulent transactions during its initial public offer (IPO) in 2007.
DLF and the penalised entities appealed the Sebi order before the tribunal.
The tribunal today listed the matter 'for directions' for September 13 and is subsequently expected to pass a ruling.
Those penalised in the case include DLF chairman K P Singh, his son and vice chairman Rajiv Singh, daughter Pia Singh, as also three "housewives" married to key management personnel of the DLF group.
While DLF and others have denied any wrongdoings in its submissions before Sebi, the regulator said they knowingly suppressed material facts and information in the IPO papers.
In another related case concerning DLF, SAT in March 2015 had passed a 'majority order', quashing the three-year market ban imposed on the realty giant by the Sebi, even as the Presiding Officer dissented.
The particular case was also related to allegations that DLF and its top executives had suppressed key information during its over Rs 9,000-crore IPO, including certain "sham transactions" involving an associate company, Sudipti Estates.
