SCR gears up for Krishna Pushkar festival

The South Central Railway has instructed the Vijayawada division to complete soon all works taken up for the Krishna Pushkar festival expected to be held in August this year.
South Central Railway General Manager Ravindra Gupta yesterday visited the Vijayawada railway station and also suburban stations - Madhuranagar, Gunadala and KC canal - to personally assess the progress of the planned works.
He asked the division officials to assess the flow of passengers before the Pushkar, in consultation with state government officials, to prepare an action plan, a press release here said.
Gupta asked the officials that the action plan should contain the number of temporary booking counters, shelters for passengers, drinking water and toilet facilities at various places in railway station premises.

He also directed the officials to utilise the vacant space on Tarapet side by constructing temporary shelters for the passengers.
