Select pulses extend fall on tepid demand

Prices of select pulses, led by gram, drifted further by up to Rs 200 per quintal at the wholesale pulses market today owing to slackened demand from retailers against ample stocks position on improved supplies from producing belts.
Traders said besides fall in demand from retailers, adequate stocks position on increased supplies from producing regions kept pressure on gram and other pulses prices.
Expectations of bumper crop also weighed on prices, they said.
In the national capital, gram, gramdal local and best quality lost Rs 200 each at Rs 6,600-7,000, Rs 7,500-7,800 and Rs 7,900-8,000 per quintal respectively.
Kabuli gram small variety followed suit and declined by a similar margin to Rs 8,800-9,300 per quintal.
Besan Shaktibhog and Rajdhani traded lower at Rs 3,400 each instead of Rs 3,500 each per 35 kg.
Arhar and its dal dara variety eased by Rs 200 each to Rs 4,650 and Rs 6,500-8,300 per quintal, respectively.
Moong and its dal chilka local declined by Rs 200 each to Rs 5,100-5,300 and Rs 5,600-5,800 per quintal. Its dal dhoya local and best quality enquired lower by a similar margin to Rs 6,200-6,700 and Rs 6,700-6,900 per quintal.
Masoor small and bold weakened by Rs 100 each to Rs 4,800-4,900 and Rs 4,850-5,000 per quintal. Its dal local and best quality traded lower by the same margin to Rs 5,200-5,700 and Rs 5,300-5,800 per quintal.
Malka local and best drifted lower by Rs 200 each to Rs 5,900-6,100 and Rs 6,000-6,200 per quintal.
In line with overall trend, urad and its dal chilka local shed Rs 100 each at Rs 6,000-7,000 and Rs 6,300-6,400 per quintal. Its dal best quality and dhoya enquired lower by a similar margin to Rs 6,400-6,900 and Rs 6,800-7,100 per quintal.

Masoor small Rs 4,800-4,900, bold Rs 4,850-5,000, Dal Masoor local Rs 5,200-5,700, best quality Rs 5,300-5,800, Malka local Rs 5,900-6,100, best Rs 6,000-6,200, Moth Rs 3,600-4,000, Arhar Rs 4,650, Dal Arhar Dara Rs 6,500-8,300.
Gram Rs 6,600-7,000, Gram dal (local) Rs 7,500-7,800, best quality Rs 7,900-8,000, Besan (35 kg), Shakti Bhog Rs 3,400, Rajdhani Rs 3,400, Rajma Chitra Rs 6,500-9,000, Kabuli Gram small Rs 8,800-9,300, Dabra Rs 2,700-2,800, Imported Rs 4,700-5,100, Lobia Rs 5,400-5,600, Peas white Rs 2,500-2,525 and green Rs 2,700-2,800.
