The seven, inmates of the Jodhpur Central Jail, were kept in a court cell when they fled after breaking the lock of a gate, a police officer said.
Six were arrested within hours and an intensive hunt was launched to nab the seventh one, ADCP Kailash Dan Ratnoo said.
Some 90 prisoners, lodged in the Jodhpur jail, were taken to court in connection with hearing in different cases, he said.
"They were kept in a court cell which has two gates which were locked," the police officer said.
Seven of them fled after breaking the lock of a gate, Ratnoo said.
"We immediately cordoned the entire area and arrested six of them," the police officer said adding all of them were undertrials.
