The victim Surjeet Puri, mother of Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN Manjeev Singh Puri, was alone at her residence in Defence Colony when the robbers forced their way in yesterday afternoon.
Surjeet, the wife of former Punjab Chief Secretary S S Puri, is also the aunt of Permanent Representative of India to the United Nations Hardeep Puri.
She was gagged and robbed by two men who came there on the pretext of distributing pamphlets.
"We have questioned several people. We have spoken to several vendors and guards in the area. Efforts are on to nab the culprits," a senior police official said.
The robbery came to light when the victim's driver came to take her to Gymkhana Club. The woman was taken to AIIMS for treatment.
