Acknowledging tough fight from talented Soumyajit Ghosh and teenage sensation Sourav Saha, veteran paddler Achanta Sarath Kamal today exuded confidence while talking about his chances of winning the National Table Tennis Championship.
"I know there is tough fight against top ranking paddlers Ghosh and Saha, both of whom are in top form," Kamal told PTI here.
Sarath is working hard for the forthcoming Commonwealth Games scheduled in Glasgow.
Kamal said he would be leaving for Germany on January 14 for preparation for the forthcoming Asian Games at Incheon in South Korea and Commonwealth Games.
He praised new national coach Peter Angel and said under his guidance the country would definitely improve and get good results in international tournaments.
Kamal lamented that table tennis does not enjoy popularity in India like cricket, football and badminton. Sponsors are not coming forward to push the game also, he said.
