Shirke was the lone BCCI functionary to file his nomination for the post yesterday.
The 62-year-old became the secretary in July after Anurag Thakur was elevated as the President with Shashank Manohar opting to quit BCCI for the ICC chairmanship.
(REOPENS DEL 24)
The election of the Honorary Secretary's position was necessitated in accordance with Rule 13 (a) (ii) of the BCCI's existing Memorandum of Rules and Regulations.
Shirke had been nominated by President Anurag Thakur after the latter was elevated to the helm of affairs of the beleaguered Board on May 22 following the resignation tendered by Manohar.
