Shrihari, Vikkas set national record in sub-junior aquatics

Karnataka's N Shrihari set the new national record in 100m back stroke today while P Vikkas of Tamil Nadu entered the record books in the 200m medley event at the 30th Sub-Junior National Aquatic Championship, here.
Maharashtra continued to sparkled at the pool winning four golds, six silver and five bronze on the penultimate day at SAG swimming pool, Campal.
In the 100 MT back stroke for boys group II, Karnataka's N Shrihari set a new record with a timing of 1:11:59 breaking existing record of Sonu Yadav of Uttar Pradesh (1:12:09) which was set in 2007.
In the 200 MT individual Medley in Boys group IV, P Vikkas of Tamil Nadu clocked 02:46:61 breaking the record of M S Danush (02:49:15) set in 2010.

Maharashtra has an overall tally to 20 gold, 13 silver and 12 Bronze and look set to win the Championship.
Goa's Genevieve Atala D'Costa won her third silver medal after she finished second behind Swati Vidap of Maharashtra (276.90) with 231.45 points in the 3 MT Spring Board girls group I.
