Silver anklets worth Rs 1.18 cr seized from bus

Silver anklets valued at Rs 1.18 crore were today seized from a Bangalore-bound bus here and ten persons taken into custody for questioning, police said.
The private bus was intercepted by police who found ten silver anklet manufacturers having in all 220 kg of silver anklets without proper tax documents. The group told police that they were planning to sell the anklets at Bangalore.
Police seized the anklets and took them into custody for questioning. They were later handed over to commercial tax officials who imposed a fine of Rs 3.16 lakh.
They were later released and the seized goods also were handed over, police said.
