The Governor presented mementos to GOC, Victor Force, Maj Gen R R Nimbhorkar, Commanding Officer, 4 Bihar Regiment Col R P Singh, and officiating Commanding Officer, 2 Mahar regiment, Lt Col Sumer Singh at Raj Bhavan here last evening, as a token of appreciation for valuable support to the smooth conduct of the Yatra, an official spokesman said today.
Both formations are moving out after conclusion of their Yatra duties, the spokesman said.
The Governor, who is also the chairman of Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB), said in ensuring a successful conclusion of the Yatra, the army, police and security forces have played a significant role in providing a secured environment as well as extending physical support to the Yatris to undertake the difficult journey to the Holy Cave, he added.
