The Singapore Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SICCI) is planning a trade mission to Andhra Pradesh to help members expand into the Indian market through collaboration, joint ventures and partnerships.
It will be a joint mission by SICCI and the Singapore Business Federation (SBF) as a follow up to a number of successful Singapore ventures in India in June, including the master plan of Andhra Pradesh's new capital city of Amaravati.
"We are planning a mission early June and chamber plans to help members expand into the Indian market through collaboration, joint ventures and partnerships," R Theyvendran re-elected chairman of SICCI said.
Another major landmark was Singapore Sembcorp Industries' recently launched USD 4.2 billion coal-fired power generation plant in Andhra Pradesh, a largest foreign direct investment in India's thermal energy sector.
"Our chamber has a wide network, on-ground knowledge, and extensive experience in helping businesses seize opportunities in India and other potential markets," he said, assuring the Singapore Indian business community of new initiatives, strong support and value-added services to bolster their entrepreneurial spirit and business goals.
"It would like to urge SICCI members to start seriously looking at the Greater India region for expanding their local operations and investing in major infrastructure and property development projects in India seeking expertise and equity from Singapore companies," Theyvendran in a call to the 1,000-strong members of the 92-year old chamber.
The companies and businesses have a good name in India as reliable and trustworthy business partners, he said.
