Sinha told reporters here today that he had written a letter to Munda yesterday asking him to handover the cases to the CBI with immediate effect as the magnitude of the land scam covering 2.24 acres was "very serious".
Stating that the additional collector was entrusted with the enquiry, the MP said he was not satisfied with it because "some officials are allegedly involved in the scam".
"The land scam should be probed by the CBI as several other cases of illegal land sale had taken place in Hazaribagh town in collusion between some officials and land mafia," alleged Sinha in his letter, a copy of which was released to the press.
Sinha appended several newspaper clippings with his letter in support of his demand for a CBI inquiry.
