Demonetisation effect: Manish Sisodia meets family of man who died in queue outside bank

Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia today met family members of the man who died while waiting in a queue outside a bank in Najafgarh and hit out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the deaths due to demonetisation.

49-year-old Satish Kumar, a resident of Uttam Nagar who sold vegetables in Keshopur Mandi, collapsed outside the Oriental Bank of Commerce branch on Najafgarh Road, while he was standing in a queue to deposit Rs 50,000.

Sisodia said the wife of the deceased told him that they did not have any money on them for the past 10-12 days. Kumar was distressed and talked of returing to his native village.

The Deputy Chief Minister claimed that Satish fainted after standing in the queue for six hours.

Attacking the Prime Minister, he tweeted, "Modiji, after how many deaths will you realise that poor people and not the rich are dying due to your surgical strike (sic)," he tweeted.

Later, Sisodia also led a march of AAP at Jantar Mantar against demonetisation.
