At least six policemen on patrolling duty were killed in a landmine blast by Maoists in Bihar's Aurangabad district this evening.
Inspector General of Police Sushil Khopde said that among the dead was officer in-charge of Tandwa police station Ajay Kumar.
The police party, on patrol duty, was returning to Tandwa police station from Nabinagar when the blast took place near Uttri kol nahar.
It is feared that the casualty figure might go up, Khopde said.
Aurangabad, about 200 km away from Patna, is a Maoist-hit district bordering Palamu district of Jharkhand.
