national has been arrested at Cheraankottai between Dhanushkodi and Rameswaram sea shore for allegedly trying to go to the island nation illegally, police said today.
Rajendran of Mannar distrcit in Sri Lanka had reached India illegally in 2005. He planned to go to Sri Lanka in a boat last night.
He was arrested by the 'Q' branch police. It was reported that the man has given Rs 10,000 to a person to take him in a boat to Sri Lanka.
