Around six persons have been detained for interrogation today in connection with the murder of a Samajwadi Party leader here, even as the police has failed to make any arrest so far in the case.
Yashvir Singh, who was an advocate by profession and a prominent SP leader of the city, was gunned down by around a dozen miscreants at his home in Bamhetta village of the district yesterday.
"We are searching for the accused in the case. Motive behind the murder can be known only after the arrest of the persons named in the FIR," SP city Shiv Shankar said today.
Yashvir's brother Salekh Chand and his bodyguard Shrichand were also injured in the incident, the SP added.
