SP leader's nephew found murdered in UP, 1 arrested

One person was today arrested in connection with the murder of a Samajwadi Party leader's nephew, whose body was found in a sewer here this morning, police said.
Manoj, the 32-year-old nephew of SP's Meerut district General Secretary Anil Chaudhary was allegedly called out of his home by two of his friends, Kapil and Manoj last evening after which he did not return home. His body was found by family members this morning in a sewer in Shatabdi Nagar area, Superintendent of Police (city), Om Prakash told PTI.
"Manoj's was stomach was found slit and his face had scars inflicted with a from a heavy object. The body has been sent for post-mortem and police is investigating the case," he said.

Kapil has been arrested and efforts are underway to apprehend Manoj after the deceased's family filed a against the two, Prakash said.
A dispute over money was said to be the reason behind the murder, he added.
