Dathan was speaking at a function after dedicating the Space Pavilion of Indian Space Research Organization and Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC) at Centre for Science in Society (C-SiS), Cochin University of Science and Technology, Kalamassery, here.
CUSAT Vice-Chancellor Dr J Letha, who presided over the function, opined that a concerted effort should be made by Universities to obtain patents for all scientific findings.
Models of various rockets and artificial satellites launched by ISRO as well as sculptures of renowned scientists like Aryabhatta and Bhaskaracharya are showcased in the pavilion. It will be extensively used for the mid-summer Science Talent and Total Capacity Development Programme organized by C-SiS for school children.
