As part of the ongoing year-long celebrations of 350th 'Prakash Utsav' of Guru Gobind Singh, Punjab government has decided to ply special buses from different parts of the state to ferry devotees to Takht Patna Sahib in Bihar, the birth place of the tenth master of Sikhs.
These buses will run from December 1 till the culmination of the mega event at Patna Sahib on January 7 next year.
A decision to this effect was taken during a meeting presided over by the Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal here today.
The Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal, who also attended the meeting, has asked the Chief Secretary to work out the modalities for plying buses from different destinations across the state to facilitate the devotees to have hassle free pilgrimage to Takht Patna Sahib, an official release said.
These buses would halt at different Gurudwaras enroute for accommodation and free community kitchen (langar) at night as per the schedule being chalked out by the SGPC authorities.
The special buses would run in addition to the charted trains already allotted by the Railways from different places across the state to Patna Sahib.
The Chief Minister also gave his approval to organise a grand show at Virasat-e-Khalsa, Anandpur Sahib on November 27.
Another mega event would be held in Delhi on December 11 by the state government in coordination with DSGMC.
It was also decided to hold a mega Kirtan Darbar for the first time at India Gate, New Delhi on November 25 while a Kirtan Darbar would be organised at Anandpur Sahib on November 26.
The Chief Minister also decided to extend special invitation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to be the Chief Guest of the functions to be held at Anandpur Sahib and New Delhi.
