It also launched a toll free helpline number to register complaints of women in distress.
DGP Satyavrat Bansal said the cell, which will function at the state police headquarters, will be headed by a senior IPS woman officer. It will exclusively tackle complaints related to atrocities against women.
The toll free number is 18001804111. The other numbers are 0135-2712685 and 0135-2712080, Bansal said.
