Spurious liquor case; one gets life term

A local court has sent a man to life imprisonment in a case, in which he was accused of supplying spurious liquor in 2009 that resulted in death of 40 people in Deoband, police said.
District Sessions Judge S S Gupta yesterday found accused Manoj Kumar Tyagi guilty and handed a life sentence under sections 272 and 273 of the IPC.
According to prosecution, around 40 people had lost their lives in 2009 after consuming the liquor supplied by Tyagi.
The accused was then arrested and 50 liters of spurious liquor was seized from his car at Deoband in Saharanpur district.
