Srinath was speaking at a programme organised by Nagpur Sports Journalists Association. Asked about India's performance abroad, he said strong attitude coupled with confidence is needed to win matches overseas.
Heaping praise on Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Srinath said he is an outstanding captain and his record proves it while drawing comparison with other skippers.
On the sledging issue, Srinath, who is also an ICC referee, said emotional outbursts are bound to occur in professional sports but it must be restricted to permissible limits.
