Kalki Koechlin, the versatile Bollywood actor of French descent, says she is still struggling and working hard.
"(I am) still struggling... Working hard for my bread and butter... I have to find something that I can relate to, something that makes it real for me, believable in someway. I think I need to have lived with the characters I play and something that I have not done before. I don't like to be repetitive," the 'Dev D' star told PTI here.
About her earning accolades from critics but yet to be popular among the masses, she says, "I will love to do more mass movies if they are offered to me. I think 'Zindagi na Milegi Dobara' and 'Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani' were great films to work on and I will love to do more such films."
Asked where she would like to see herself in the next five years, Koechlin says, "I want to be curious and excited about every film I do as though it was the first film."
On how much she has matured after reaching the 30-year-club, the 31-year-old said, "I have calmed down as a person. I worry less and I am not usually in a hurry and do stuff that I feel like doing creatively. I wish I could tell my younger self that it is okay to be different."
Koechlin, whose latest flick 'With a Straw' is billed to be released in April, walked the ramp for designer Nitin Bal Chauhan at the launch of Scottish whiskey Cutty Sark in the city recently.
The actor remembered her childhood days in Ooty while talking about her connection with the brand.
"I feel whiskey is one of the most common drinks we have in India. It is like this classic drink that most dads drink and that is where I got it introduced with by my dad. I have actually been to Cutty Sark Greenwich in London," said the actor, who had attended university in that city studying drama and theatre.
