The Delhi government will hold talks with representatives of Sarvodaya Driver Association of Delhi (SDAD) tomorrow which has called the strike against "low fares" and "lack" of basic amenities provided by app-based taxi aggregators.
SDAD claimed to represent 1.5 lakhs drivers, who works with Ola and Uber, in Delhi-NCR.
During morning and evening peak hours, cabs were not available at times on both Uber and Ola apps and the routes where taxis were available, companies were resorting to surge pricing.
"Today, two representatives from Delhi government approached us and has fixed a meeting with government officials on our all demands tomorrow. Our union will remain on strike till our issues are properly addressed," SDAD vice-president Ravi Rathore said.
Rathore said his union members are peacefully staging a dharna at Jantar Mantar and are not indulging in any type of violence.
Delhi Autorickshaw Sangh and Delhi Pradesh Taxi Union have already cleared they would not support strike as their business were getting affected due to app-based taxi services.
In the audio, Gill purportedly asked for a written assurance from the company representative.
The union president was purportedly heard saying, "We don't give any importance to Delhi government nor Delhi Transport Minister Satyendar Jain...We want written assurance.
