Successfully tacking Ronaldinho most cherished moment: player

An ardent fan of Ronaldinho, Indian Futsal player Mohammed Islam says successfully tacking the Brazilian football legend was the moment he would cherish during the ongoing Premier Futsal here.
Islam, who plays for Kolkata 5's, had the distinction of becoming the first Indian player to score a goal in Premier Futsal. The Goa leg of the tournament is going on at an indoor stadium in Mapusa near here.
"When I was playing against Ronaldinho (in the game against Goa 5's), at that time, I had successfully tackled him and that's the best movement so far for me in the league. I tackled a international player and if I had not done that, the opposition could have scored a goal," Islam told PTI here.

"I am big Ronaldinho fan and playing against him was a good feeling. We have also spoken to several marquee players of the team. They praised our game and advised us to play football with both head and heart," he added.
For the 22-year-old player and others like him, Premier Futsal was a big platform to showcase their skills.
Interestingly, he did not have any clue about futsal and the league before actually playing in the tournament.
"Initially, I had no idea about the league. I was practicing at my football academy in Kolkata, at that time some people came on the ground and briefed about the league. Only two players from the camp made it to the trials. I was got selected and later went to Chennai, where again I underwent trials and later got selected," Islam said.

"Futsal is a good sport. I did not have any idea about it. We have to play this sport with a fresh mind and need to hold the ball for some time. Like in football, you hold the ball and play anywhere, you have to pass the ball immediately and and make way. The sport is different from football," he added.
