Sugar firms up on wedding season demand

Sugar prices firmed at the wholesale market in the national capital today on increased demand from retailers as well as bulk consumers, driven by ongoing wedding season.
Traders attributed rise in sugar prices to firm demand from retailers and bulk consumers supported by ongoing wedding.
Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 edged up to Rs 2,960-3,160 and Rs 2,950-3,150 from previous levels of Rs 2,850-3,050 and Rs 2,840-3,040 per quintal respectively.
Similarly, mill delivery M-30 and S-30 traded higher at Rs 2,730-2,970 and Rs 2,720-2,960 as against previous close of Rs 2,660-2,890 and Rs 2,650-2,880 per quintal respectively.
In the millgate section, Mawana new, Kinnoni, Asmoli, Dorala and Budhana traded higher at Rs 2,880, Rs 2,970, Rs 2,900, 2,865 and Budhana new 2,870 against last close of Rs 2,780, Rs 2,880, Rs 2,860,Rs 2,775 and Rs 2,775 per quintal respectively.

Thanabhavan new, Dhanora, Simboli new, Khatauli and Dhampur new also settled higher at Rs 2,860, Rs 2,850, Rs 2,950,Rs 2,900 and Rs 2,840 as compared to previous levels of Rs 2,765, Rs 2,720,Rs 2,880, Rs 2,850 and Rs 2,740 per quintal respectively.

Ramala, Anupshaher, Baghpat, Morna, Sakoti, Chandpur, Nazibabad and Malakput new too quoted higher at Rs 2,740, Rs 2,730, Rs 2,750, Rs 2,750, Rs 2,760, Rs 2,840,Rs 2,730 and Rs 2,830 instead of Rs 2,670, Rs 2,670, Rs 2,680, Rs 2,680, Rs 2,680, Rs 2,730, Rs 2,670 and Rs 2,750 per quintal respectively.
