At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, sugar for delivery in September fell by Rs 20, or 0.67 per cent to Rs 2,958 per quintal with an open interest of 7,090 lots.
In a similar fashion, the sweetener for delivery in October lost Rs 19, or 0.63 per cent to Rs 2,985 per quintal in 4,530 lots.
Market analysts said adequate stocks following higher supplies from millers mainly kept pressure on the sweetner prices at futures trade but festive season demand restricted the losses.
