Sugar declines on lacklusture demand amid good supply

Sugar prices continued to drift at the Vashi wholesale market here today due to lack of demand from consumers amid sustained offloading by millers.
Medium sugar (M-30) slipped by Rs 28 to finish at Rs Rs 3,172/3,330 per quintal from Saturday's level of Rs 3,200/ 3,330.
Small sugar (S-30) also eased by Rs 10 to settle at Rs 3,062/3,152 per quintal compared to Rs 3,072/3,162 last weekend.
Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:
Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 3,172/3,330 (Rs 3,200/3,330).
Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 3,062/3,152 (Rs 3,072/3,162).
