Sugar prices improved by Rs 30 per quintal in the national capital today following restricted arrivals amid pick up in demand.
Marketmen said rising demand due to ongoing marriage seasons against thin supply from mills mainly pushed up sweetner prices.
Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 prices ended higher by Rs 30 each at Rs 2,950-3,220 and Rs 2,940-3,210 per quintal, respectively.
Mill delivery M-30 and S-30 prices also gained by Rs 10 each at Rs 2,750-3,070 and Rs 2,740-3,060 per quintal.
Among millgate section, sugar Dorala hardened by Rs 30 at Rs 2,900, while Dhampur, Bulandshar and Naziababad rose by Rs 20 each at Rs 2,860, Rs 2,855 and Rs 2,790 per quintal.
Prices of Dhanora, Simbholi, Modinagar and Khatauli too moved up by Rs 15 each at Rs 2,870, Rs 3,045, Rs 2,865 and Rs 3,045 per quintal, respectively.
