Sugar slips on reduced demand

Prices of both varieties of sugar slipped at the Vashi wholesale market here today due to subdued demand from stockists and retailers amid ample supply.
Small sugar (S-30) dropped by Rs 17/79 per quintal to Rs 2,685/2,802 from Tuesday's closing level of Rs 2,702/2,881.
Medium sugar (M-30) also fell by Rs 18 per quintal to Rs 2,802/2,996 as compared to Rs 2,820/2,996 yesterday.
Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:
Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 2,685/2,802 (Rs 2,702/2,881).
Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 2,802/2,996 (Rs 2,820/2,996).
