The Canadian native, who moved to the US to pursue a career in showbiz, plays an uptight assistant store manager, Dina Fox in the TV series, which premiered in the US in 2015.
Lauren says when she read the part, she was immediately drawn to it.
"I read a lot of scripts at the beginning of 2015. And then I read this and I thought it was a great character. I was immediately drawn to it. I wanted to play Dina. I was my manager's most annoying client as I kept saying that I needed to get this part," Lauren told PTI over phone from Los Angeles.
"It has been a great experience. The cast is great. I knew from the beginning that the show is going to be successful. We have fun together. It is a dream job."
The Justin Spitzer-created series, which also features America Ferrera, Ben Feldman, Colton Dunn and Nichole Bloom, airs in India on Comedy Central.
Lauren's stronghold is comedy - she is one half of sketch comedy duo "Cory!" and is also a two-time Canadian Comedy Award winner.
"I had decided to go to a theatre school for a dramatic training but after a few months, I dropped out. I was not comfortable. I was kind of depressed. It was then that I went to Second City."
She, however, does not rule out starring in drama-heavy projects as she says as an actress she should always keep pushing her boundaries.
"But I would love to do different things. I would love to do something which is more dramatic down the road. It is a different kind of challenge.
