Suspected swine flu death in city

A 49-year-old woman at a private hospital here died Thursday because of swine flu, sources at the medical establishment said.

However, there was no official confirmation from the state health department if the death was because of the H1N1 influenza.

"Mousumi Misra (49), a resident of Salt Lake, died because of septic shock with multiple organ failure, due to H1N1 influenza and bacterial pneumonitis," the death certificate issued by the city-based hospital read.

Misra was admitted to the hospital last month, the sources said.
