With Enforcement Directorate on his toes in the Saradha chit fund scam, member of Parliament Kunal Ghosh today met Finance Minister P Chidambaram and is believed to have submitted some documents.
Ghosh, emerging from his 30-minute meeting with Chidambaram, said he has not sought any bailout from the government and will cooperate with the investigations into the scam.
"I have not sought any immunity... I will extend full support to the ongoing investigation (into the scam)," he said.
Sources said he has submitted some documents related the Saradha chit fund scam to the Finance Minister.
However, the nature of documents submitted by Ghosh could not be independently ascertained.
The suspended Trinamool Congress MP from West Bengal was last month grilled by the Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) and the ED in connection with the the chit fund scam, in which lakhs of investors were duped.
Ghosh, who was the CEO of the Saradha media group, had earlier threatened to disclose names if he was arrested in the scam and sought an inquiry by his party into the enitre episode.
Sources close to the MP said he sought financial assistance for the revival of historic Rammohan library in North Kolkata.
The Saradha scam, in which lakhs of investors were duped, came to light in April after which Saradha group chairman Sudipta Sen was arrested along with two others.
Ghosh was summoned by the police in Kolkata several times in the past two months in connection with the scam.
