The toll due to swine flu has risen to 43 here this year, after test reports confirmed today that four people who died recently, including one woman, carried the H1N1 virus.
"Three men and one woman who died recently during treatment at different hospitals, tested positive for swine flu, according to their test reports which came in today," government-run Mahatma Gandhi Memorial College's Community Health Department Head Sanjay Dixit told PTI.
He said that three women suspected to be suffering from swine flu had died in a hospital in the last 24 hours. Of these women, two hailed from the neighbouring Ujjain district.
Dixit said that 96 people have tested positive for swine flu since January 1 and out of them, 48 succumbed to the virus.
