The Telangana government today constituted a committee of ministers and officials to study the issue of formation of zones in the state in the recruitment of government employees.
Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, who held a meeting with ministers and officials, took a decision to this effect.
"He (Rao) said it is necessary to finalise district, zone, multi-zone, state posts and hence the necessity for the formation of new zones," a release from the Chief Minister's office said.
Accordingly, Rao has constituted a committee with ministers and officials to study and prepare proposals on the number of zones, jurisdiction of zones, among others, it said.
Rao also said there is a need to amend the Presidential Orders (371 D) (concerning the zonal system), issued in undivided Andhra Pradesh, with regard to government appointments, the release added.
