The 57-year-old singer, who has sung songs like 'Zindagi jab bhi teri bazm mein', 'Phir chhidi raat baat Phoolon ki' and 'Na Kisi Ki Aankh Ka' among others, would be hosting the show 'Carvaan-e-Ghazal with Talat Aziz'.
"It is a ghazal show with a difference. Apart from playing the classic ghazals, I will be introducing some artistes also, who have not been heard of before. I would also be sharing my memorable experiences with other ghazal maestros like Pankaj Udhas, Ghulam Ali and Jagjit Singh among others," Aziz told PTI.
Aziz, who has come up with numerous popular albums in the past, feels that ghazal listeners have increased over the period of time.
"The number of ghazal listeners have grown. We know this because we conduct concerts. There is still a huge number in the world who wants to listen to pure ghazals. Even now when we do concerts, we always get a huge turn up," he said.
"Wherever we have concerts in different states, private shows and even in ghazal festivals the turnout is always huge. If it is not being shown on TV it does not mean the genre does not have listeners," he added.
"I like classical songs and have sung some too in my career. I liked 'Laal Ishq' by Arijit Singh from 'Ram-Leela'. The song is in Raag Bihag and he has sung it well. He is a promising singer," he said.
Aziz has also composed music for an upcoming film on Urdu poet Asrar ul Haq Majaz.
"There is a movie being made on the life of poet Asrar ul Haq Majaz. I have composed the songs and have sung some too," he said.
