"My ministry is developing Tawang as a mega tourist destination and the process has already been started," Sharma told state's Tourism Minister Pema Khandu when he called on him at New Delhi yesterday.
Ensuring his full support, Sharma said the BJP government at the Centre was keen to develop tourism in North Eastern states, especially in Arunachal Pradesh.
He also assured Pema of his ministry's full co-operation in funding other projects of the state, already submitted, a press note said.
He also apprised him about the ongoing as well as proposed tourism projects in the state and requested for his support in carrying forward the development of tourism.
Later, Pema held a meeting with senior officers in the finance division of the ministry where a detailed discussion was held on the status of funds to be released by the ministry for the state projects.
